Small Intricate Sculptures

These works are all unique and recognisably detailed. They are miniature, individualistic environments that entail untold stories of non-existent worlds. These pieces draw the viewer in to discover new bits and sections hidden within one another.

With these works, the artist was interested in involving the idea of play into her ceramic objects. She wanted to take a concept commonly associated with ceramics (specifically, ceramic/porcelain tea sets for kids) and make it a non-functional, non-purposeful interaction that physically resembles something familiar but conceptually addresses something completely different (fragility of notions associated with gender and sexuality). These objects are multifaceted and incredibly intricate to a point where certain sections can only be partially seen by the viewer.
